An ANC "broedertwis" in Mpumalnga has allegedly led to one official donnering another.

An ANCYL provincial executive treasurer in Mpumalanga allegedly beat up an ANC regional organiser during a meeting to nominate new ANC executive in Gert Sibande.

Now the victim, Joseph Dube, has laid charges of assault against S'busiso Radebe. Dube said he went to the meeting as organiser to ensure that the deadline stipulated by the province was met.

He said the meeting had not started when he asked branch secretary Vusi Shabangu to register the members present.

"I was surprised when S'busiso Radebe demanded to know what I was doing at their meeting since I am from Ward 3," Dube said.

"Radebe said his branch did not want to associate itself with Lassy Chiwayo supporters because they supported David Mabuza. "I refused to leave and he hit me. I fell from the second floor and injured my ankle."

But Radebe rubbished Dube's allegations. He said he only asked Dube to excuse himself since he was not invited to their meeting.
