Thulani "Big Daddy" Mbhele has parted company with Thanda Royal Zulu as their part-time spin doctor after his demands were turned down.

"I asked the management of the club to offer me a car and a cellphone for me to execute my duties effectively but we could not reach an agreement. I left them last week," Mbhele, who joined the team in September last year, told Sowetan yesterday.

"Last season I was using my own car and it was taxing because what I was getting was not good enough to maintain the car.

"I was convinced that they would give me what I wanted because of what I did for the club last season. They were playing in front of empty seats before I arrived but I managed to attract more than 10 000 supporters to their matches."

Mbhele is a full-time employee at the eThekwini Municipality fire department. Thabani Gumede, Thanda manager, confirmed his departure.
