A jilted lover finally got his way when he allegedly kidnapped and raped his former girlfriend at Ivory Park, near Tembisa in Ekurhuleni.

Before this, in April, Bongani Ntimane had tried to forcibly take his ex-girlfriend away from her home but his mission failed when the girl's brother and a friend intervened. The three got into a fight in which the brother's friend allegedly stabbed Ntimane, 24, in the neck.

The two were arrested and have been in custody since.

After their arrest, Ntimane kidnapped the ex-girlfriend on June 28. She was only rescued on Wednesday by a police inspector. The inspector had gone to the house to further investigate the attempted murder case on Ntimane against the girl's brother and his friend.

To his surprise, the inspector found the 20-year-old woman outside washing blankets and weeping bitterly. Ntimane had allegedly assaulted her the previous night. On seeing the inspector, Ntimane ran away. A case of kidnapping, rape and assault has been opened.
