A titanic clash is expected when the Blue Bulls take on the wounded Cheetahs in a Absa Currie Cup game at Loftus Versfeld tomorrow.

After their resounding 34-15 victory over the Sharks at the weekend, the Bulls will be looking for a second home triumph.

They will also be out to secure top spot on the table at the expense of the fourth-placed Cheetahs, who lost 9-3 to Western Province away at Newlands last Saturday.

Frans Ludeke, the Bulls coach, has made only two changes to the squad that beat the Sharks.

Tighthead prop Ryno Gerber joins the starting lineup ahead of Werner Kruger, who moves to the bench.

Scrumhalf Fourie du Preez will start off the bench after replacing South African Under-20 scrumhalf Francois Hougaard.

Former Lions coach Ludeke has retained his solid backline, which include John Mametsa and Tiger Mangweni, for a fourth consecutive tie.

Kickoff is at 5.05pm.

On the same day, the resurgent Lions take on the Kavaliers at Ellis Park Stadium in a 3pm kickoff.

The hosts are still celebrating their first win of the season after overcoming the Falcons 35-23 at the weekend,

They had lost the first two rounds of matches to the Bulls (21-7) and the Cheetahs (22-18).

Western Province are expected to collect maximum points when they play host to a winless Wildeklawer Griquas in Kimberley.

In the only match billed for tonight, the Sharks engage the Falcons at 7.10pm in Durban.
