Limpopo police are searching for three suspects who are allegedly responsible for the death of a 15-year-old boy who they threw into a dam at GaMasemola village this week.

The police at Nebo in Sekhukhune said the suspects approached five boys who were collecting firewood and threatened them with knives before instructing the boys to follow them to a nearby dam.

At the dam the men ordered the boys to undress and go into the water. The eldest boy was told to go in first.

When he refused to undress they assaulted him and threw him in the water.

The other four boys, aged between 11 and 14, managed to escape and informed their parents. The police were called to the river but when they arrived the boy was dead.

Nebo police spokesman Inspector Daniel Lediga said the name of the dead boy had not yet been released.

He asked people to be on the lookout for the suspects.

He called on anyone who might have any information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspects to contact Inspector Stephen Manaswe on 082-565-8151 or on 013- 264-0005.
