Sentencing postponed

The sentencing of a corrupt policeman was postponed in the Johannesburg magistrate's court yesterday.

The sentencing of a corrupt policeman was postponed in the Johannesburg magistrate's court yesterday.

The postponement was requested by state prosecutor Sharon Masedi to give the department of correctional services time to prepare a supervision report.

Sean Twala, 40, a detective inspector attached to the Parktown police station, was last month found guilty of extortion, intimidation, bribery and defeating the ends of justice.

His attorney, Johan Kotze, will use the report in a bid to keep his client out of jail.

Twala faces further corruption charges with co-accused Tello Mota of the Johannesburg Central police station next month. Twala is out on R5000 bail. - Russel Morena
