Limpopo soccer sucks

What a sad day Sunday was for soccer fans in Limpopo. Both the Black Leopards and Dynamos failed in their encounters with Bay United and FCAK, respectively.

What a sad day Sunday was for soccer fans in Limpopo. Both the Black Leopards and Dynamos failed in their encounters with Bay United and FCAK, respectively.

A lack of composure in front of goals and a lack of determination and commitment led to Lidoda Duvha's failure.

David Thidiela did the wrong thing to sack Sheppard Murape, who looked like a messiah when he joined the club towards the end of the season.

There was hope after he took over because Leopards started collecting maximum points.

The main contributors to Leopards' inconsistency and demise has been its management because it kept changing coaches. Thidiela failed to read them the riot act and they kept changing the technical staff at crucial times.

It is incredible that Limpopo does not have a professional soccer side anymore, especially since Polokwane is an official host city of the the 2010 World Cup.

To the soccer bosses: please stop running soccer clubs like spaza shops. Listen to advice, especially from your supporters and administrators.

What a sad time for all those ardent soccer fans in the province. The truth is that they won't enjoy watching competitive soccer for a whole season, if not for ever.

Mpolo Machaka,

Polokwane
