Last week's arrest of a church minister on charges of fraud, theft, forgery and racketeering must have raised eyebrows, especially in religious circles.

Pharmacist and pastor Obed Khalidzwe of the Christ Embassy Church was arrested with five others on charges that include the defrauding of medical aid schemes.

These are serious allegations since a minister of religion is the suspected mastermind of the syndicate.

Khalidzwe and his co-accused will be presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

His alleged involvement has obviously brought his church into disrepute and we hope he and his co-accused will soon have their day in court where they can defend themselves.
