Silence seems to be the watchword around kwaito star Mandoza as the date for his culpable homicide trial draws closer.
Mandoza, his wife Mpho and manager Vaughn Eaton are all keeping silent ahead of the musician's trial on July 10 in the Roodepoort magistrate's court.
They all refused to say anything about the case when approached for comment.
Mandoza's wife said: "We're fine for now but I can't comment on anything."
In an e-mail sent to Sowetan Eaton said: "Thank you for your interest in Mandoza's case. Unfortunately we have been advised by our legal team not to do any interviews regarding the case."
On June 18 the state prosecutor decided to charge Mandoza with two counts of culpable homicide for his part in a car accident that allegedly claimed the lives of two men who had just come off a work shift.
Mandoza was driving his new SRT Chrysler when he allegedly crashed into the back of a VW Jetta.
The two occupants of the Jetta, colleagues Felix Thebe and Charles Shabalala, died at the scene.
If convicted Mandoza could spend five to 10 years behind bars.
The accident happened on the N1 North near the Beyers Naude off-ramp on the morning of March 3.
Mandoza, who had dropped his wife in Soweto, was allegedly on his way to the Mzansi Awards after-party at Emperors Palace.
