25 pupils can study medicine in Cuba

The Mpumalanga health department will send 25 young people to Cuba to study medicine.

Departmental spokesman Mpho Gabashane said the pupils must have passed matric with exemption in science subjects, not be older than 25 years, have no criminal record, be prepared to undergo screening for chronic diseases and be residents of the province.

Gabashane said: "Youths must not commit crimes or do drugs because the government will create opportunities for them to better their lives."
