Zimbabwe, fix yourself

I hear everyone in the world is trying to help Zimbabwe - but its own people are not trying to help themselves.

I hear everyone in the world is trying to help Zimbabwe - but its own people are not trying to help themselves.

First, it does not make sense that "the beast" Robert Mugabe got more than 40percent of the votes from the same people the whole world is trying to rescue.

Clearly these people are not trying to help themselves. Who in their right mind would vote for a person who treats them in this way?

Second, we should let those senseless Zimbabweans taste their own medicine and stop wasting our time and money.

I pity them but one can only do so much to help and it will only work if they want to be helped.

I would like to beg my fellow South Africans not to worry themselves any further. Rather concentrate on our country, which is slowly falling apart, otherwise it will end up like Zimbabwe.

People are blaming President Thabo Mbeki and ANC president Jacob Zuma for not doing enough about Zimbabwe - but they are doing their best to help.

We only seem to be putting South Africa in a bad light by trying to solve that country's problems - and this is added proof that they should be left to help themselves.

Mbuso Zuma, Johannesburg
