No stopping Holy Fighters

GaMashashane Holy Fighters scooped the third edition of the Moletjie Sports Against Crime Tournament at Phaudi sports ground on Sunday.

The GaMashashane club made their intentions clear in the quarters, when they walloped Red Devils 6-1.

But Fighters had a tougher time getting past Morning Stars in the semifinals. The two sides played to a 1-all draw in regulation time and Fighters won 5-4 on penalties.

Sweepers beat Celtic 4-2 in the other semifinal. Fighters then beat Sweepers 1-0 in the final to take home the R1000 first prize.

Meanwhile, City continued with their domination in the Limpopo Soccer Masters' league when they clobbered neighbours Polokwane 4-2 in a league match played in Polokwane on Saturday.

City now lead the 12-team log with 10 points from four outings.

Results: Moletjie 2, Spook Park 0; City 4, Polokwane 2; Mmotong 0, Solomondale 2; Mankweng 1, Mekwepereng 0; Manyora 8, Zone Six 4; Ambassadors 4, Wonder boy 1.
