Police arrested 132 suspects in a crackdown on crime in central Johannesburg at the weekend.

Police arrested 132 suspects in a crackdown on crime in central Johannesburg at the weekend.

Police spokesman Inspector Xoli Mbele said yesterday that the suspects face charges of assault, robbery, malicious damage to property, drunken driving and theft.

Police confiscated three firearms, 98 fake DVDs, 12 Mandrax tablets and a bag of dagga.

Most of the suspects were due to appear in court yesterday. - Sapa
