The Sharks kept their winning streak intact when they thumped Boland Kavaliers 38-13 in an Absa Currie Cup game in Durban on Friday.

It was the second win for the Natalians after beating Western Province 28-25 last week at the same venue.

They are presently top of the log with nine points from two straight wins and are a point ahead of second-placed Cheetahs who garnered eight points.

Cheetahs kept their title hopes alive after pulling off a stunning 22-18 victory over the Lions in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

But it was not an easy victory for the hosts who beat the Gautengers in the final of the same competition last season in the Free State.

The Falcons moved to third spot on the Absa Currie Cup log with a convincing 36-30 win over Wildeklawer Griquas at Bosman Stadium in Brakpan on Saturday.

At Newlands, Western Province beat the Bulls 26-17.
