Sowetan, partnered by SABC Radio Sales and Virgin Mobile, held a successful yearly Aggrey Klaaste Nation Building Foundation Golf Day at Roodepoort Country Club at Ruimsig on Friday.

This 18 hole competition was played by over 120 players, among them soccer coach, Khabo Zondo, TV sports presenter Udo Carelse and Muvhango celebrity, Gienie Lockson.

Sowetan and SundayWorld's publisher, Bongani Keswa, who has also taken to playing golf, said there is a need for government to build more golf courses.

''The competition is a worthy course for we also raised funds by auctioning sports memorabilia. The proceeds will go towards needy charities,'' Keswa said.
