Johannesburg's mayor is scheduled to meet the MEC for community safety in Gauteng to discuss allegations that the SAPS sparked the conflict with the Johannesburg Metro police on Wednesday night.
City manager Mavela Dlamini said executive mayor Amos Masondo would raise the issue with Firoz Cachalia. He also said the city had noted the issues and grievances raised by some of the metro police department employees and that they would be addressed in negotiations.
Dlamini said the city apologised for any inconvenience caused when Metro police blockaded streets during their protest. - Sowetan Reporter
