Orlando Pirates midfielder Michael Morton and goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni of Kaizer Chiefs are the latest acquisitions for Amajita.

The two will be among the 22 players that the South African Football Association will be registering for the 2009 African Youth Championships.

The South African Under-20 national side begin their campaign with a home match against Reunion at Caledonian Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday.

"We have to send the list of players that we will be using to the organisers this week as we are starting with the qualifiers," said Serame Letsoaka, Amajita's coach.

But there was still a dark cloud hanging over the inclusion of Kermit Erasmus, the SuperSport United striker who is joining Dutch giants Feyenoord next week.

"We had initially included him in the team but he informed us that he wants to spend time with with his family in Port Elizabeth," said Letsoaka.

"My hands are tied, I don't even know what to do. Kermit is one of our key players but we will have to look elsewhere if he is not interested in playing for Amajita."

Sowetan has also learnt that Chiefs have agreed to release Tlou "Spanner" Molekwane and Mandla Masango after initially indicating that they wouldn't join Amajita.

"Bra Stan Tshabalala [Safa junior national teams manager] spoke to Chiefs, we are excited that they have agreed to release Spanner and Mandla," said Letsoaka.

He also said midfielder Aidan Jenniker of Ajax Cape Town would only join Amajita at their camp in Tshwane tomorrow. Reunion were set to arrive in Mzansi last night.
