Five youths, aged between 16 and 20, were yesterday morning arrested for the murder of a 51-year-old man, Gauteng police said.

Five youths, aged between 16 and 20, were yesterday morning arrested for the murder of a 51-year-old man, Gauteng police said.

Inspector Yakub Rasool said the man was murdered at about 3am on Saturday in Masechaba in Duduza near Brakpan.

Detectives received information indicating that a group of five youths had allegedly committed the murder.

Yesterday morning eight detectives from the Duduza crime investigation services arrested the five. A stainless steel switchblade, believed to be the murder weapon, was confiscated.

The motive for the murder was believed to be robbery.

The suspects will appear before the Nigel magistrate's court today on charges of murder. - Sapa
