The PAC is worried about people who are allegedly painting a bad picture of the party before its national conference next week.

The conference is scheduled to take place in Alice in the Eastern Cape from July 4 to 6. Spokesman Mudini Maivha said the party was concerned about the increasing number of people posing as PAC members "with the aim of causing disruptions within the party".

"We are worried about the behaviour of individuals who have failed to renew their membership cards with the party and are now anti-PAC," said Maivha.

This comes after a Sunday paper reported that Mthatha branch members Pasika Nontshiza and Koliswa Mbete filed an urgent court application in the Pretoria high court last week to stall the party's conference, saying the party was dysfunctional.

PAC president Letlapa Mphahlele said Nontshiza had wanted to renew his membership since 2001 and wanted to be a lifetime member of the party.
