Adventists celebrate women

The Seventh Day Adventist Church in Orlando West on Saturday held a special service to celebrate the role of young women in church and society.

The Seventh Day Adventist Church in Orlando West on Saturday held a special service to celebrate the role of young women in church and society.

Hundreds of churchgoers gathered to celebrate this special event organised by the Young Adventist Women Ministry (Yawm) under the theme "I am a woman kept".

Yawm focuses on developing young women in the church, aged 13 to 30, both spiritually and socially.

"Young women today go through a lot of bad experiences that tamper with their self-esteem and ultimately they forget their worth," said Candy Lindsey, leader of Yawm.

"It is being kept by God that can help young women in our society to find their purpose and overcome the challenges they face today."

Guest speaker Pastor Bitji Modiri said young women could contribute a lot to society and church. - Penwell Dlamini
