Generations star Zukisa Matola, who plays the role of Bridget Tshabane, is quitting the soapie after only five months.

Yesterday, the 30-year-old actress, who has also appeared in Tsha Tsha and Tshisa, told Sowetan that she is leaving in August.

The Mthatha-born beauty says she wants to concentrate on "another project" which, Sowetan has learnt, is the SABC1 drama series Tshisa.

"Anyone who tells you I was unhappy at Generations is a liar," she says.

"I will miss the show but this is one of those difficult decisions one has to take. I loved it there. I was so at home."

Generations publicist Constance Mokhoantle confirms that Matola's is leaving SA's biggest soapie.

"She is leaving in August. Her contract has lapsed," Mokhoantle says.
