one of the best toyotas ever

Toyota Corolla has never failed its owners. Those who sell it would be doing it for other reasons rather than the reliability issue.

The reason for this is quite simple: all Toyota products are solid and a pleasure to drive. Where the previous Corolla competed in a market for small size family sedans, and even classified as a budget car, the latest Corolla is a better contender in the segment for luxury family sedans.

With its larger diameters and Lexus-design style influence everywhere in and outside the car, it can be accepted that this Corolla will be as popular as ever.

Our used test car for this week is a low-mileage 2007 model Toyota Corolla 1.8 Advance manual from McCarthy Toyota Centurion.

The car has a mere 8000km on the clock and is absolutely spotless. The new generation Corolla is one of the best-looking vehicles in its class, and you can clearly see the Lexus influence when looking at the front bumper, tail-lights and side profile.

Power steering, electric windows, side mirrors, aircon, front-loading CD/MP3-player and adjustable steering column are just a few of the standard luxury features of this car. On the safety side, one gets ABS-brakes and dual front airbags.

The four-cylinder, 1,8-litre petrol engine delivers a healthy 100 kW of power and 175 Nm of torque. The power gets transferred to the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
