Irresponsible Malema needs an ANC lesson

Yesterday, Sowetan published an article in which the ANCYL president Julius Malema was rattling the sabre and was quoted as having said that "we are prepared to take up arms and kill for Zuma".

This because they want the state to drop the corruption charges against ANC president Jacob Zuma. Is Malema suggesting that we close down the judiciary, law enforcement agencies and correctional services, throw open jail doors, throw away the keys, release all the criminals and thugs and live under an anarchy?

If the answer is no, then why should certain people not face the full might of the law if they find themselves on the wrong side of the law?

Is the state going to buckle under because of irresponsible utterances from the ANCYL spoilt brats?

Malema should be reminded that the first president of the ANCYL, Anton Lembede, was a respected scholar and distinguished lawyer. He was articled under one of the pioneers in the legal fraternity in this country and a founding member of the ANC, Pixley ka Isaka Seme. Lembede would never have made such a reckless, irresponsible and sanguinary statement in defence of a person who allegedly used his position in the ANC to protect a convicted criminal in exchange for a bribe.

I am also sure our security forces are "prepared to take up arms and defend the integrity of the state" against marauding street urchins.
