Midfielder Tebaja Mashiane's brace steered Newcastle United to a resounding 3-0 victory over New Era Santos in the Coca-Cola Shanduka competition at Vosloorus ground on Sunday.
The youngsters were first on the ball and literally outpaced their more experienced opponents with excellent ball distribution.
Mashiane opened the scoring in the 33th minute when he converted a free kick from Sibusiso Skosana with a header.
He completed his brace two minutes before the interval with a 35m drive to give his side a 2-0 cushion.
Kenneth Sithole made the tally 3-0 after he intercepted a stray pass inside Santos' box and beat goalie Peter Fakude.
In other games, City Stars pipped Junior Spinners 2-1 and Movers scalped Valencia 2-0, while Vosloo Sports went down 3-0 to Mighty Birds.
The Keep Fit Soccer League's Carlsberg Cup quarterfinals were played at Jabavu Sport Grounds at the weekend.
