The second yearly Adidas Steve Pienaar Youth Soccer Tournament will take place at the Westbury sports grounds in Johannesburg, starting tomorrow.

Bafana Bafana star Steven "Schillo" Pienaar started the tournament last year as part of his social responsibility.

The attacking midfielder, who plays for Everton in England, was born and bred in Westburg, which has also produced top boxer Derrick Whiteboy.

Pienaar said he wanted to see more exciting soccer players coming out of the Westbury, a former coloured township that was characterised by gangsterism and drugs.

With Bafana Bafana out in Freetown to play against Sierra Leone tomorrow, Pienaar will only be present at the games on Sunday.

Mike Ntombela, Adidas soccer manager, said it was encouraging to see household names like Pienaar contributing to the development of their communities.
