Three of the four Santos players who decided not to renew their contracts with The People's Team have revealed that they are seeking greener pastures with other Absa Premiership teams.

The trio, Thembile Kanono, Robert Nauseb and Jonathan Armogam, said negotiations with the teams were going well. They hope to secure new deals in the off-season.

Kanono said he was still waiting for his agent to come back to him, because he has a number of offers. But sources close to the player linked him to Orlando Pirates.

Nauseb, the Namibian international, said he was negotiating with a number of teams but pointed out that he needs to make the right decision as to which team to join.

Zimbabwean Armogam said he was also talking to some teams and had not taken any decisions yet.

The fourth player, Sebastian Bax, has already left for his native Mauritius where he had decided to hang up his boots.

Santos chief operations officer Edries Burton had no clue as to where the three players were headed.

Burton said they were hard at work behind the scenes preparing for the new season.

He pointed out that the coach, David Bright, still had two seasons with the club and that he had laid a good foundation.

"He is a good coach who believes in youth and he hopes that Santos will hold its own against top sides in the league next season."

Burton said the club's management appreciates the contribution the four players have made to the club's success over the years and wished them well in the future.

Club chairman Goolam Allie said much as he appreciated what the other players did for the club, he was especially thankful for the contribution made by Bax.

"Bax has served the club well, and we are thankful for the contribution he has made over the years," he said.

"He is another example of a foreign footballer who has come here and carried himself like a true professional and served the game well."
