Fight xenophobia and criminality
Congratulations to the people of the West Rand, in particular the communities of Mogale City, Mohlakeng and Westonaria, for not senselessly attacking foreigners.
Criminals who claim to have legitimate concerns, now blame our poor brothers and sisters from war-ravaged African countries.
Some political formations tried to use local criminals and murderers to mislead communities, but it is very clear that these demonic attacks always emerge when our country prepares for national elections.
We have capable law enforcement agencies that can act swiftly if there is criminal activity, so why don't we just report those people who we suspect are criminals instead of attacking and killing all foreigners?
Those behind the attacks were very disappointed that their reign was short-lived. I urge our people to sustain this unity of purpose and remain vigilant against all trouble-makers.
Let us all heed the ANC's call to establish street and block committees and strengthen the community police forums. These people's structures will assist our communities to defend themselves against criminals, irrespective of who they are.
Unite against xenophobic and criminal activities.
