Race card creates problems

South Africa will never be able to address the causes of racial discrimination and xenophobia as long as action against the corrupt and illegal conduct of a powerful black person is rejected as a racist attack.

South Africa will never be able to address the causes of racial discrimination and xenophobia as long as action against the corrupt and illegal conduct of a powerful black person is rejected as a racist attack.

Having followed the story about the complaint against Judge John Hlophe, I still have to find something that smells of racism.

If parties such as the Black People's Convention are going to defend an accused person using the race card, then we are heading for the worst. Constitutional court judges have nothing to gain from making false accusations against a judge president of any court. The Constitutional court is the highest court of the land, so what is there in it for them?

The problem is not with constitutional court judges or anyone else lodging complaints against a black person, it is with where South Africa stands today.

After Polokwane this country has entered a "dog-eat-dog" situation. Everyone who supported ANC president Jacob Zuma seems to have been given an axe to chop down everything that he or she identifies as an obstacle.

That is the problem.
