The IFP Youth Brigade has joined other South African groups to celebrate Youth Day and Youth Month.

The theme for the celebration is "Your voice, your choice! Let's secure our future". It is aimed at helping thousands of the country's youth who have lost hope.

Acting brigade chairman Pat Lebenya-Ntanzi said a key event would be held at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu township, north of Durban, on June 16.

IFP leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi will be the keynote speaker.

Lebenya-Ntanzi said the theme of the day was "South Africa is on the brink of collapse because of poor decision-making on the part of key leaders and role players".

"We believe that it's time for South African youths to stand together and voice our concerns about the present and future," he said.

"It is time to stand up and make our choices for the future, including choosing with care what political party to vote for next year."
