Police have yet to arrest the men responsible for the death of a 16-year-old who was killed for a cellphone last week.

Smangele Mangxola, of Orlando West, Soweto, and a friend were walking through an open field from Orlando High School when she was stabbed to death for her friend's cellphone on Thursday.

She was stabbed under the ribcage and died on arrival at a local clinic.

Police spokesman Captain Nomvula Mbense, said Mangxola's friend was receiving counselling after witnessing her friend's killing.

"No one has been arrested but we are looking for two men," said Mbense.

Mangxola's sister, Thulisile Simelane, said two days before her sister died she told her family she had dreamt about two dead bodies.

Smangele's grandfather, Samuel Msimango, said that the day before her death his brother-in-law, Agrippa Thabethe, died in his arms after a short illness.

Mangxola will have a joint service with Thabethe on Saturday at Smangele's home . The service will start at 9.30am.
