Why can't our government solve the problem with daylight saving time?

It is practised in Europe and the US and I read in your Monday edition that Pakistan has also introduced it.

It will cost nothing to implement and will benefit us by reducing electricity costs. It might even go some way to reducing our horrendous crime statistics.

Apparently numerous petitions were submitted to the government over the years but as far as I know, there was no response. Could government please get it moving or tell us why they are against it?
