Danny Jordaan, the 2010 World Cup Local Organising Committee chief executive, will make a presentation on their progress at the World Economic Forum in Cape Town. The forum starts today and will end on Friday.

Jordaan will lead some of the conference delegates to inspect the progress in the construction of Green Point Stadium in the morning.

It will be Jordaan's first public appearance after returning from the Fifa congress in Australia last week where they were praised by the world soccer body. Fifa president Sepp Blatter said they were encouraged by South Africa's preparations for the 2009 Confederations Cup and World Cup.

On Sunday, Jordaan will be in Pietermaritzburg for the launch of the first artificial pitch that First National Bank has helped sponsor. As part of the celebrations, South Africa's Majimbos will play neighbours Zimbabwe in an international friendly.
