Dali Mpofu has called on the SABC board to put "personal vendettas aside and get on with the work".

"Let's get to work, I say. Enough the waste of resources and time."

Yesterday, Judge Moroa Tsoka of the Johannesburg high court dismissed the SABC board's application for leave to appeal against the court's decision to reinstate Mpofu as chief executive, saying no new evidence had been put forward.

Mpofu was suspended by the board on May 7 following allegations of misconduct.

Two weeks later, Judge Tsoka ruled in court that the meeting that resulted in Mpofu's suspension was invalid, and demanded that the suspension be lifted.

However, a few days after being reinstated, Mpofu received a memorandum from board chairman Khanyisiwe Mkhonza again informing him that he had been suspended.

"I confirm that an application for leave to appeal has been delivered. In the circumstances, your suspension is again effective. You have been and are again required to leave the premises of the SABC and refrain from entering the premises of the SABC," Mkhonza said in the memorandum.

Speaking outside court after his second victory yesterday, Mpofu said: "I'm going straight to work from here, although it looks like these days I have to start in court before going to my office."

He said the application for leave to appeal by the SABC board had never worried him because there were no grounds for it.

"This was all meant to harass me," Mpofu said.

"It is just certain individuals pushing a personal vendetta against me."

He said that " what the board does is a matter of their own conscience".

Mpofu was suspended a few hours after he had suspended SABC head of news Snuki Zikalala.
