Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka has praised community members of Masiphumelele in Western Cape for spreading the message of reintegration after the township was subjected to xenophobic violence.

"The story of Masiphumelele needs to be told to the rest of SA so that others can learn and do the same," Mlambo-Ngcuka said on Friday.

Local people and leaders collected stolen goods after the area was affected by violence on foreign nationals, spokesman Denzil Taylor said.

Mlambo-Ngcuka and other government officials visited the township of Masiphumelele near Fish Hoek and the nearby Du Noon and Khayelitsha. - Sapa
