Bidvest Wits' disappointing finish in the Absa Premiership this past season has prompted the club management to look to the transfer market for reinforcements.

The Students completed their campaign a lowly 12th despite making a strong start to the season.

Coach Roger de Sa yesterday said they were desperately in need of two quality strikers and a left-back.

De Sa made it clear that they want players worth their salt because their aim is to challenge for league honours in the 2008-2009 season.

" I am looking for strikers who will deliver the goods and also a left-back who will fortify the rearguard,'' said De Sa.

He said he would be looking for good players in Brazil, Europe and locally next season.

"The negotiations have not yet started with the local clubs because they are still in recess," said De Sa.

Last season The Students had top striker Marco de Jesus in their fold. But unfortunately the Brazilian was plagued by injuries for the better part of the season.

De Jesus has been put on transfer.

Other players transfer-listed are Nhlanhla Kubeka, Teboho Mokoena, Kagiso Denge and goalkeeper Sean Roberts.
