I regard him as the greatest football superstar ever produced by South Africa and as a South African he has made me and the rest of the nation proud.

The only part that annoys me is his lack of patriotism.

Other star players such as Kaka, Samuel Eto'o, Michael Essien or Lionel Messi will do anything to play for their countries, whereas McCarthy will do everything not to be part of the national team.

Remember Quinton Fortune? He disappeared completely and no one seems to want to get in touch with him.

Fortune was the same type as McCarthy because he did everything in his power not to play for the national team. As a result his contract was never renewed and no one wanted him when he got injured.

Let's hope you will not experience the same pain McCarthy. The nation's hearts are bleeding because of you and usually this brings bad luck.

I hope you will be ignored come the 2010 World Cup and watch from the stands while our patriotic young stars do what they do best on the field of play.
