The Limpopo doctor who died in a car accident early this week will be buried today.

Herman Mabina, a well-known gynaecologist in the province, will be buried in Polokwane.

Mabina, 52, died when the car in which he was travelling veered off the road and rolled several times before bursting into flames.

The accident happened on the N1 road between Modimolle and Mookgophong on Sunday morning.

Maria Maluleke, the family spokesman and the deceased's younger sister, said the reason for the early burial was because of the state in which the body was found. The body was burnt beyond recognition.

"Funeral undertakers advised us that it would be in their best interest and that of the deceased to conduct an early burial. We then decided to bury him," said Maluleke.

The service will start at 7am at Mabina's home at 25 Rabe Street, in Polokwane, and proceed to AME Church in Seshego before the burial at Silicon cemetery.
