The Absa and Sowetan Early Childhood Development Awards boast four categories:

The Absa and Sowetan Early Childhood Development Awards boast four categories:

l Best ECD practitioner;

l Best home-based care centre;

l Best community-based care centre; and

l Best ECD resource and training centre or organisation.

Through these awards - which are also powered by the Department of Education, Office of the Rights of the Child in the Presidency, SABC Education and the South African Congress for Early Childhood Development - we seek to achieve, among other things, the following:

l A heightened awareness of the awards in order to further drive support for the sector;

l Drive advocacy of the Early Childhood Development sector to create awareness of critical early childhood development areas.
