Organisers have limited the number of cyclists so as to provide maximum safety and comfort for those taking part in the two-day event.
For road enthusiasts pencil in Saturday, August 23, which sees races over 103km, 70km, 15km and a 1km walk or fun ride for children. For those who enjoy their fun off-road, Sunday is set aside for mountain bikers. Again there is a choice of distances depending on your fitness levels - 50km and 25km.
"We are hoping to raise R200000 this year," said Lorinda Burger from the Cansa Association in North West, at a recent media launch. - Bruce Fraser
