Foreigners the wrong target

As a South African who spent 40 years in various parts of Africa, and lately Ireland, I am truly shaken by the seeming hatred and frustration that has resulted in people being chased from their homes and even burnt alive in South Africa.

As a South African who spent 40 years in various parts of Africa, and lately Ireland, I am truly shaken by the seeming hatred and frustration that has resulted in people being chased from their homes and even burnt alive in South Africa.

One cannot help but feel that those most affected by what is happening now are the wrong targets.

The rightful targets should be:

lThe civil servants who have processed legal documents for foreigners to get RDP houses, while the local youth are made to wait for IDs for more than two years.

lThe government employees who sold South African IDs to foreigners.

lThe political leaders who, knowing about this corruption, have nevertheless done nothing about it since they themselves eat at the same table.

lThe political leaders who have benefited from stealing.

lThe government which has allowed our borders to be so leaky and who have not delivered services to the masses.

lThe foreigners and locals who have engaged in crime, including drugs, and the traders and other employers who have chosen to employ foreigners over the locals because they don't want to pay the minimum wage.
