The weekend saw 267 people arrested in central Johannesburg for crimes ranging from armed robbery to fraud and the possession of unlicensed firearms, police said yesterday

The weekend saw 267 people arrested in central Johannesburg for crimes ranging from armed robbery to fraud and the possession of unlicensed firearms, police said yesterday

Police spokesman Inspector Xoli Mbele said six people were arrested for armed robbery, six for fraud, four for having unlicensed firearms and five for public violence.

Other crimes included assault, shoplifting, illegal gambling, attempted murder and domestic violence. - Sapa
