Vusiwe Masondo, Mpumalanga Black Aces' midfielder, says Mamelodi Sundowns' success in winning silverware and their Absa Premiership status will count for nothing when they meet in the final of the Nedbank Cup on Saturday.

They meet at Johannesburg Stadium at 3pm.

Masondo's comments could be easily dismissed as trivial talk by some, but Amazayoni have the ability to spring an upset on Saturday.

"I know many people will think that I'm unrealistic in my comments but we are going to give Sundowns a run for their money in the final. We are not going to respect them, not at all," said the dazzling linkman.

Masondo, who has been nominated for the National First Division (NFD's) player of the season award, warned the fancied Sundowns to underestimate them at their peril.

"We are called the underdogs and we just love the tag because it motivates us to prepare even harder for the final," added Masondo, who scored in their 2-0 win over Nathi Lions in the quarterfinals of Ke Yona.

Defender Gordon Gilbert also backs Aces to lift the trophy.

"We are not afraid of Sundowns. Granted, they are good team but we will match them in all departments," said Gilbert.
