I am deeply concerned about the ongoing violence against foreigners in South Africa.

I am deeply concerned about the ongoing violence against foreigners in South Africa.

It has happened in Olievenhoutbosch, south of Pretoria, Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria, Mamelodi, east of Pretoria, and now it is happening in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg.

I live in Mamelodi and I have witnessed the violence myself. I am convinced unemployment is one of the factors contributing to the problem.

I also believe that the government should educate our people about the plight of the foreigners.

Some of the foreigners fled their own countries because of the ongoing violence there. They came to South Africa hoping to find a better life, but unfortunately that has not been the case.

I appeal to all South Africans not to resort to this kind of behaviour. It is not the solution to the problem.
