The trial of a Mpumalanga tycoon, who faces two separate cases of attempted murder, kidnap and assault, is expected to begin today.
Solly Madileng, 48, of Marapyane, will appear in the Themba regional court in Hammanskraal.
Madileng is accused of repeatedly shooting his wife Maki after she ha dturned down his pleas that she return home. The relationship between the couple, who have four children, had reportedly gone sour with Maki leaving their home.
Madileng is out on R4000 bail for attempted murder.
At the time of the incident on October 4 last year, Madileng was out on R5000 bail for allegedly assaulting and kidnapping his employee, Ephraim Makitla.
