Who will join aspirant soccer superstar Lyle Johnson at the Shona Khona talent search campaign's final assessment session in Gauteng in July?

Shona Khona was started by Reckitt Benckiser and Metro Cash & Carry three years ago.

Its partners include Sowetan, Mamelodi Sundowns, AIG, Imperial Europcar and ForwardZone.

Johnson was selected in Kimberley in December 2007. His prospective Northern Cape companion will be selected when Shona Khona, an education-through-sport initiative, returns to Kimberley's West End Sports Grounds for the second round of regional camps. Others selected:

lGauteng - Ellias Moabi, Pakiso Motshabaesi, Mosala Mamasedi, Mohau Matikane;

lNorth West - Banele Khoza, Mogorosi Mmethi;

lLimpopo - Koketso Mphela;

lKwaZulu-Natal - Zazi Zuma, Siyabonga Vilakazi, Kwanda Ndwandwe;

lNorthern Cape - Bongani Masilela, Thabang Magatla;

lFree State - Iyanda Mabani, Sipho Plaatje, Tebogo Mohale;

lMpumalanga - Maake Ndzalama;

lEastern Cape - Andile Jiyane, Ndamane Zuko, Vuyolwethu Klaas;

lWestern Cape - Sonwabiso Veiver, Mpumelelo Sefalane.

Shona Khona technical coordinator Mandla Mazibuko said: "We look forward to being in the various provinces for the trials."

Over the past two years Shona Khona has taken 24 aspirants to the Sao Paulo FC soccer academy in Brazil. From these Tyroane Sandows, 12, has signed a three-year contract with the Sao Paulo Futebol Club.

Shona Khona project coordinator Stan Whiting said: "This year, with our new partners, AIG, we will be taking a group of the most talented kids to Manchester, England, for a week of world-class soccer coaching, hosted by Manchester United Soccer Schools."
