Mountain gorillas live on African mountain slopes, but today face extinction.

There are only about 600 still roaming free in the rain forests of our continent. They are the largest of the apes - a full-grown male can weigh up to 204kg and stand 1,8m tall.

Most mountain gorillas live in groups of up to 30. They eat leaves, bark and fruit.
