The recently launched Tavern Media, a television channel aimed at young patrons in townships all over the country, is set to revolutionise tippling.

Provantage Media launched Tavern Media, "a platform that would enable brands to reach young people through targeted brand activations in township taverns and bars".

Glen Jordan, executive director of Provantage Media, said: "The group is passionate about creating employment. Even the owners of the taverns that will be using the product are going to get something out of our initiative."

Tavern Media will offer permanent media platforms such as interior and exterior mini billboards, smart activations, a Tavern television channel and sales development services.

"We do not sell alcohol," Jordan said. "We are a lifestyle aspiration brand. We are targeting people who are already in the taverns - people who go out to have fun, not to get drunk."

Jordan said they would open in all the big townships in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape.
