Inspired by their midweek win over AmaZulu, Moroka Swallows are hoping to wind up their season on a high note by beating battling Bidvest Wits in an Absa Premiership at Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg on Sunday.

Kickoff is at 3pm.

Speaking to Sowetan yesterday, Swallows manager Sipho Xulu said his team was prepared to continue where they left off on Wednesday after beating Usuthu 2-0 in Durban.

"My boys are geared up to bag the three points on Sunday to bolster our chances of qualifying in the top eight bracket and securing the R1 million prize money,'' said Xulu

But he said they would not consider their opponents' recent slump because this is a new game altogether.

Wits manager George Mogotsi, whose team lost five games in a row, has attributed their recent form to injuries.

"Our coach, Roger de Sa has done well in the first round, but now we are getting indifferent results because of a series of injuries at the team,'' Mogotsi said.

"All the same, we respect Swallows and our 1-0 victory over them in the first round is water under the bridge.

"But we promise to fight to the bitter end to bag valuable maximum points,'' he added.
