Jabu Moleketi, the deputy minister of finance, is in Kuwait for an assessment of the construction of the roof rafter of the new Nelson Mandela Bay stadium.

Moleketi, a board member of the 2010 World Cup Local Organising Committee, is leading a South African delegation including technical expert Eugene van Vuuren. The delegation left on Monday.

This is part of a commitment by the LOC to assist the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality to deliver on the promise of handing over the stadium to Fifa by March next year. A week ago Fifa decided to retain Nelson Mandela Bay Sport Complex as one of the five venues for the 2009 Confederations Cup.
