Channel O, ESPN and YFM will once again lure celebrities to the annual Celebrity Basketball Extravaganza that will take place at the Sandton parking lot, next to Nelson Mandela Square, in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Some of South Africa's popular celebrities will square up with professional basketball players. Having previously drawn some of the popular personalities, this year will be no exception.

The likes of actor Clint Brink, Hip-Hop stars Slikour of Skwatta Kamp and Les of Jozi, Channel O's VJ, Rhythm City actor Lungile Radu, Street Journal presenter Siya, and stand-up comic Loyiso Gola, are among them.

As if this is not enough, an exhibition game of South Africa's top pro basketball players, instructional clinic and games, is scheduled to bring excitement to the fun-filled family experience.

Channel O's DJ Waxxy, C Live and Zan D will keep the audience entertained with the latest hip-hop and kwaito tunes, while contestants from Channel O's successful dance programme DanceAfrica 2 willthrill the crowd with their provocative moves.

This year's highlight is the friendly, yet fierce basketball game between Channel O and YFM celebrities.

"ESPN as the worldwide leader in sports broadcasting is once again proud to present this event, which has grown in leaps and bounds to become one of the most looked forward to on the sporting and social calendar.

"This also gives us the opportunity to encourage people to watch the NBA finals that will take place in early June while also nurturing local basketball talent," says ESPN brand manager Georginah Machiridza.

Contests and interactive competitions for the public will provide opportunities to win an assortment of great and exclusive prizes from ESPN, DStv, Channel O and YFM. Channel O will host an exclusive after party at a trendy Joburg hot spot. Vinny Da Vinci, Mo Flava (YFM), Milkshake (5FM) will keep the crowd on its toes.
